Genesis Health System Safety Campaign

Genesis Health System dared to find its own path to achieve the highest benchmarks in patient safety.


Disregarding some common industry practices, the health system decided to acknowledge employees for implementing preventative safety measures instead of simply issuing reprimands when safety events occurred.


Celebrating these seemingly little victories every day resulted in hugely positive outcomes. Last year, Genesis Health System reached its goal of zero serious safety events (SSE) – and wanted everyone to know it. So, they called TAG and we helped.

TAG was tasked to create a music video celebrating this accomplishment. Patti Said, Patient Safety Officer at GHS, envisioned the recreation of common healthcare scenarios where accidents could occur. They came to life to their own soundtrack. TAG’s Audio/Video Producer, Justin Hall, wrote and recorded a parody of Bruno Mars’ 24k Magic and Genesis employees were thrilled to be part of the production.


From CNAs to CEO, producing the video required coordination and collaboration of everyone as  filming took place in four different locations. After that, the TAG team produced, mixed, edited, and finalized a music video worthy of the VMAs – or at least the Annual HPI Press Ganey Safety Summit. That’s where Patti Said is presenting this video and Genesis Health System’s safety initiatives to industry professionals.

Genesis loved it. Employees loved it. Employees’ friends and families really loved it.

The video was originally shared on Facebook on September 18 and in 3 weeks, it has been viewed 32,724 times, shared 238 times, received 1,981 reactions, and reached 76,985 people. We’d say that’s impressive. But, then again, so is Genesis Health System’s achievement.
